Message: I've got 2 question first:
1) What do you plan to do with the truck? Tow? Race? Daily Driver?
2) How big is your budget?

Message: Could use a MOPAR Perf. PCM, A cam swap. Dual exhaust w/ Headers? Stroker kit to make it a 390? Swap in a 5.9?
There are so many different ways to go.

Message: If you wanna make it 'louder', you will need to change/ modify your exhaust. Period.
Whether you spend the money on: a more free flowing muffler and use the exhisting pipes; install a tuned 'cat back' (a complete exhaust system change from the catalytic converter back to the tail pipe(s)); or have a muffler shop custom bend you one and use whatever mufflers they suggest...you are still working the exhaust.
You just have to price them out. The tuned systems are designed and tested to bolt right in and gain some power. A muffler shop 'may' be able to bend something up for a little cheaper, since they use 'straight stock' piping. An original muffler on a `93 might come right off...or you might bugger up the pipes getting it out and need to replace them anyway. Have you crawled under your rig to see the condition of the exhaust? That may make the decision for you as to what to do. I have a `95, and while it still works fine, I know that if I ever need to replace the muffler, I will most likely need to replace the exhaust (front) pipe and tail pipe.
Now, get out there and get under your rig. It is amazing what you can learn on your own when you're out there underneath it, just looking at stuff.
Just remember, you can't be quite and sneek around once you make the modification...cause everybody will hear you way before you get there once you do. I do my share of fishing and hunting and personally don't like my offroader to be noisy...and it makes it harder to sneek up on trespassers.
