Well, I fixed my hesitation and slight surging problem and regained some power while doing it. My 318 has 61,000miles and starting experiencing those things a few months ago. I now had a little time and the parts. I replaced the TPS and while I was, I went to clean the IAC via Speedtweaks.net (thanks Brend). The IAC was so horriable that I decided not to clean it (2+ hour project), but replaced it with a wells from Autozone. I messed with the MAP and IAT while I was at it, and they are on the way from Autozone as well. The TPS and IAC were very easy except for the nearly stuck Torx bolts. I started the truck, after some effort, and it ran very uneven. The idle went from 450 to 1,000 rapidly. I went to drive it(don't ask what I was thinking), but nearly stalled in gear. I opened the hood, disconnected the IAC, no change. Then the MAP sensor connector appeared to me. I forgot to connect it back up. Shut the truck off, reset the computer and no more problems. Runs like a champ!

Hope this may help some whith similar problems.

What other symptoms did your dak have to let you know there was a problem?

I had a lot of hesitation and poor mpg. When I would climb a small grade hill at 50mph or better, then engine would sputter a few times. Sorry about it taking a while, but I was waiting for the MAP and IAT to get in. Those were replaced today and the truck definately is better. I'll find out the mpg later. I have better power and no hesitation at all.
