Subject: A/C IP: Logged
Message: How hard is it to replace an A/C condensor? Mine needs replaced and i'm tryin to save money and do it myself cuz i didn't pay much for it.

That all depends on your level mechanical aptitude, but I would consider it fairly easy. Especially if the system is discharged already.
My suggestion is that you buy a service manual for your truck. Either a Chilton's or Haynes or better yet if you can find a deal on the Factory Service manuals. Chilton's or Haynes are usually about 20 bucks and well worth it if you're into saving money and getting to really know your truck.

Message: Well I'm going to school to be an airplane mechanic so i know my way around wrenches lol. I have a haynes manual but i wasn't sure if it was just worth it to go get someone else to do it.

Message: Since, I'm assuming, you don't have a vacuum pump or gauges you're best bet may be to find an A/C shop that will be willing to evacuate & refill the system but let you buy and change the parts yourself.
Let them locate the leak/leaks and you change out the recommended parts. You should be able to save some money.

Message: I'm not sure and my truck isn't here now to check. There should be a sticker underhood or on the compressor. Otherwise consuilt a service manual.
