Subject: Front Hitches IP: Logged
Message: I am considering placing a front hitch on my 2003 Dakota QC to use a carrier basket or possible bike rack. I haul a truck camper in the bed that extends out the rear. Concerned with clearance issues. I know that a carrier will decrease my approach angle when on, but how about off. I do like to travel forest roads locating a place to camp.
Does anyone have one installed? Thoughts? Concerns? Pictures?
Thanks!

Message: The front hitches usually come out thru the lower openings in the bumper or air dam. Any approach angle impedence would be negligable with just the hitch installed. Now with the basket...if you are talking one of those that is flat and approximately the same height as the hitch...you are correct. Your approach angle will be crap.
