I went to my local dealer looking for new '09 dakota. none in stock. Dealer search within 100 miles of Des Moines Iowa shows 1 dakota in stock.
local dealer said way behind on production. Why, whats going on with the Dakota ?

did you try a Mitsubishi dealer? personally i think their version is better looking unless dodge has done some major bodywork to it in the last 2 years.

Yep, get used to being owned by one of the smallest car makers in Eroupe! I wonder if it will have a Fiat diesal engine?? Being owned by Daimler Benz was bad enough (take a look a the net loss from '98 to '06) but being controlled by Fait means the end of Chrysler period!

Fiat never built anything that didn't have oil leaks, or constantly breaking down. They were cheap though.

Hey, could be worse. Us GM guys are just trying to figure out if there will be a Pontiac by this time next month. I still love my goat, but the Pontiac name badge got soiled VERY badly after the intro of these ugly Korean built G3's. Kind of hard to sell a BMW bashing Aussie built G8 GXP while it sits beside a tiny Korean box with barely 100hp having the same badge on it.

Who would have thought that olds would just disappear??
But it's not just Pontiac that's in question; Hummer could be sold to another foreign company such as a Government owned Chinese Bank!
As it turned out Fiat has a new interest in Saturn.
