Message: Yup, a 4.7L motor out of a 2003 Durango with only 72k on the clock. Basically they guy's Durango was stolen, they took the motor out of it and left the truck in a parking lot, so his insurance paid for a new motor to be put in. Well about 2 weeks ago they called him and said they found the motor (along with drugs and other stolen goods) and gave it back to him. He had it on craigslist for 150 bucks so as I was leaving work to go look at it, he called me up and said if I picked it up last night I could have it. So I picked it up! Its in perfect condition besides the oil filter that we squished when using the hoist to put it in my truck. It looks like it only has 10k on it.
All in all I think I got a good deal.

Message: I can't believe how easy that was! The hardest part was getting the engine to just line up so I could put the bolts back in the motor mounts. Other than that it was a breeze! The PCM switched out, the wiring harness just clicked right in and everything, If I would have known how easy that was a year and a half ago I would have done it right away! Who would have thought an engine swap only takes 14 hours in my garage.

Message: What a score! I thought my recent purchase of a complete, but overheated, 4.7L engine for $1 was good.
Do you like the power increase? Unnecessary question. I'm expecting you'll get better MPG. Let us know how that goes (provided you can keep your foot out of the throttle).
What's your left foot doing? ============== 2002 Graphite QC SLT Plus, 4.7L, NV3500, Superchips 3715, 3.92 LSD, R/T rear swaybar, no chrome, loads o'fun... 2001 Patriot Blue Durango SLT, 4.7L, 45RFE, Superchips 3715, 3.55 Open (for now) 1999 Forest Green Dakota RC Sport, 2.5L, NV1500, 3.55 Open

Message: I love it! And it is very hard to keep my foot out of it now, I actually made a couple 2 hour trips and got better gas mileage, and the cool thing is I can actually go 70Mph without keeping it in 4th gear! I feel like 5th actually has a purpose!
If you wanna know something really cool, I sold the V6 yesterday for 700 bucks! So I made money on a swap that originally cost me nothing!
