Message: Hi guys,
I have an 05' SLT Quad Cab 4.7L (non HO) w/3.55 gears and the AWD transfer case and the 17" wheels. I just drove an 07' SLT Quad Cab 4.7L (non HO) w/3.55 gears and the part-time transfer case with 16" wheels. The 07' was very strong with acceleration and shifting and it actually had a better sounding exhaust note. This thing was quite a bit faster than mine and it shifted quicker. I think there is a 5hp/10lbs ft difference between the two but my question is does the AWD transfer case slow this truck down? Even in 4x4 high on the 07' it was fast. I'm guessing that the difference in wheel sizes also plays a factor. Just an observation. Wish my truck accelerated and shifted like that one. The 07' reminded me a lot of my 00' with the 4.7L that I just traded for this 05'.

Cleaned the throttle body this weekend and replaced the tps sensor. Runs much nicer now and shifts a lot better. I reused the throttle body gasket, I hope that's ok, but I get a slight hissing noise at idle. Checked all the hoses and made sure I connected the vacuum line back up to the throttle body and all is well. I noticed today that when I had the a/c on, sometimes it would blow warm air and sometimes cold air. Would that have to do with anything that I did?

Message: Not likely; and yes, the TB gasket is reusable.
Wheel sizes won't make a difference, but tire diameter could. An AWD transfer case will definitely slow a truck down compared to the part time transfer case in 2WD.
