Subject: Survey For School IP: Logged
Message: I'm building a set of custom headers for my dakota for a school project and i was wondering maybe if you guys could answer these basic questions that i am using for a survey.
1. Would you like to get more power from your cars engine? Yes or No?
2. Have you ever thought that your car doesn’t sound “mean” enough? Yes or No?
3. Did you know that most stock exhaust systems restrict up to 20 horsepower from your cars performance? Yes or No?
4. Would you be willing to pay someone to install a new exhaust in your car to get more power and a better sound? Yes or No?
5. Would you rather install car parts yourself? Yes or No?

Message: 1. Yes and no. More power would (always) be nice, but not if it means more noise or reduced reliability.
2. No! One of the nicest things about the Dak is the smooth, mellow sound the engine makes and the fact that you can't even hear the exhaust! There is no need for it to sound "mean", as no one else really cares and all it does is add to the already high levels of Urban Noise Pollution.
3. Yes. This is the trade-off between power and quiet. Most people would rather enjoy a quiet ride than have their teeth rattled for hours on end. Besides, giving up 20HP for a more civilized sounds isn't a big deal when you have 230-300HP to begin with!
4. Yes. If the job is super involved, having the job done by a pro is a good choice, but a BETTER sound is not necessarily a LOUDER sound.
5. Yes. As others have stated, I prefer to install parts myself if the job isn't super involved.
