WHAT MANUAL TRANS FLUID DO YOU GUYS RECCOMMEND. I HAVE A 1998 3.9L 2WD. DODGE USES 10W 30 MOTOR OIL AND I DON'T AGREE WITH THAT.

Agree or not, you should use what the manual recommends.
However, warranty concerns notwithstanding, feel free to experiment.

I happen to agree with JasonB, You should try to keep with the manual and use what they recommend. However there are synthetics out there that could make it shift a little smoother and provide longer wear life.

If that transmission is the NV3500, in the owners
manual it should give the Chrysler/Dodge part
number for the fluid.

Penzoil Synchromesh has that part number on the
back of the bottle. It is available at places
like Autozone. It is a cone shaped yellow
bottle.

I used it in mine and it works great. Reading
around over the years, I've read ALOT that using
a different fluid in the NV3500 besides that
called for in the manual is bad for the
transmission.

Agreed ewraven.

Changed mine awhile back, a little better shifting, but it was good before I changed it.

I've heard of people using 5-30 in the NV3500, don't know about that though.

It really needs the 'synchro-mesh' from a mechanical viewpoint it seems.
It would work well in any manual tranny.
