Message: Can't find any info on back-up light switch adjustment. Lights work, but come on between Park and Reverse instead of when I'm in Reverse.

Message: Yes, they only come on briefly when the gearshift is between park and reverse. Never on otherwise. 1998 V-6 2WD.

Message: Now there's confusion.
They're not on when in Reverse, just during the transition from Park to Reverse, right?

Message: I believe there is a sending unit on the trans. Don't remember any adjustment. Sending unit may be faulty...or worse (cringe) what trips it in the trans is out of adjustment.
Found this link: http://www.onlinefreeebooks.net/automotive-machinery-power-equipment-ebooks/dodge/2003-dodge-dakota-repair-manual-pdf.html
I didn't download (83MB) to see what all was in it.
Good luck, Chris!
