Subject: 2000 Dakota In-Dash Nav/Sound IP: Logged
Message: I have been checking around and have not found anything yet - anyone know of a good aftermarket in-dash Navigation/Sound system that looks "Stock" for a 2000 Dakota?
Everything I have found is either a flip-up screen (which blocks the A/C vents) or some cheap looking thing you can find at walmart. I am looking for something that looks like it could have been factory installed.
any ideas?

Message: An RB1 should be a direct fit and it is the factory nav for your year. I also have an '03 Ram 2500 and it would take the RB1 direct bolt in no lockpick. Check what radio code you have on your stock radio. I believe that link posted above came from an ebayer site "Mrcd1" or something like that. He seems to have the most info on Mopar radios.

As for the RB1, do you happen to have a link for it NJDodge?
Thanks!

Message: Buy one and try it, you will see. Been there done that. Does not work. If you believe everything you read on the internet; you my friend are an idiot. I guess Todd Bouton said it would work, so it must be so. Just remember it is not their own money they are spending when they tell you it will work. Good luck to you if you get it to work...

Message: Nate, go on ebay and search "dodge RB1" and the auctions and ebay stores for them should come up. They will post the years and models. The RB1 should have the rounded corners to match the corners on your radio. One guy on ebay selling the mopar nav units is "mrcd1" scroll through his sales and you will find info and links to the company that created "lockpick". I think lockpick only works on later years '04 to '07, don't quote me on that though.

Message: Mr Not,
You got your panties in a 'Knot' or something.
Why is it you are SO obscessed with me.
Yes, my name is Todd Bouton, what of it, do you KNOW me? If you do, post YOUR real name, so I'll know who to go and discuss this with.
Do you have a 2002, would it happen to be AWD?
This is the first post I have put on this thread.
Why would you think I'm posting under Dan M.?
I have nothing to add about his first question, I was reading here b/c it is something I may want to do to my Dak one day. Probably not though, I have a Garmin, that sticks on the windshied, that works well when I need it.
Drive it like its paid for!

Message: The issue with mygig and a 2000 dakota is related to CANbus. One of the switch setting for lockpick is to set the CANbus speed (low/high).
You can make myGig work with some older vehicles not listed on the lockpick docs if you know the pinouts and do some fancy wiring and it supports CANbus.
Mybad on not doing enough research on myGIG NateJ. I am on some other forums and have read many people installing mygig and using lockpick as well as some factory installs using lockpick. They are 04 and newer durangos. Some on chargers, nitros and 300Ms
