Message: i just bought a '02 Club Cab from a elder man who appear to take great care of it, it has the 4.7 with 20,500 miles on it. and its a 2x4. I noticed the other day when i turn left into my driveway or anywhere else i have to make a slow left turn there is a knocking noise in the front end. i dont know if its in the steering or suspension. i also think i might have a broken front shock because when i press on the front bumper of the truck something sqeaks under there. if anyone else has had these problems please help!

upper ball joints was completed on that truck.

Message: I don't think that 2WD trucks were included in the ball joint recall - that was just 4WD vehicles.
I haven't had the problem that you describe, and mine is a 2002 2WD. I think I'd try to get it on a lift somewhere and get a good look all around, even if you have to take it to Sears and pay them for it.
