Subject: Grill/Brush Guards for a newbie IP: Logged
Message: I have not been involved with the off-road scene and am not an off-roader but after banging up the front of my new Dakota I was wondering about Brush/Grill Guards.
I know nothing about them. Are they mounted to the frame? Would they help protect the front end in accidents? Would it be worthwhile to check any out? What do the run, cost wise? What brands/models would you recommend?
Even though I am an on-road 2-wheel drive person, I have no problem mixing off-road items with on-road items if they meet my needs. Just like my bicycles. I have road and mountain items on my various bikes cause it suits my needs.

Message: Looked at your picture. Looks very minimal compared to what I am thinking. What I am looking for (I guess) is a push bar and grill guard combo. I am looking for one of those things that cover the whole front end and protect the headlights and has a heavy duty push bar type thing. Also in Chrome or polished stainless as I have SLTs.
Hopes this helps make it clearer what I am seeking. As I said this is all new for me.

Message: i have one that i'm gonna be selling that you might be interested in. It's not quite as heavy as the full off road ones but it still gives you the protection and look. I'd be asking 250 for it Pictures of it can be seen here.

Message: I think I found a contender. I am thinking about the Westin 1 piece unit. I believe they call it the Sportsman model.
