The wife of a buddy of mine has an 04 durango with leather seats. It's been unusually cold here in GA lately and she wants to add some heat to them.
Anyone here know where he can get a heated seat kit?
Has anyone added heat to their vehicle before? How doable is this without changing the entire seats? They are concerned with front only if it makes a difference.

I have heated seats in my '05. I love them (bad back). I would imagine they would be available through the parts dept for replacement.

Go to magauto.com and search under '05 Dakota front seats and the components for the back and cushion heat elements will come up. Not that expensive, just have to put some time into it.

Would anything besides the seats need to be changed and a switch added?
Like the wiring harness for the power seat?

Dakota, are you looking to add heat to your existing seats or do you want to swap in completely new seats. Seems the cheapest way would be to just buy the heating elements and put them in your existing seats as long as they aren't worn out or ripped. You would just need a hot wire and a switch. Factory seats have "low" and "high" for heat settings.
