Its the bell P-63 kingcobra.

Some say it could turn circles around the P-51 Mustang. Well it was state of the art technology of that time, and in someways even ahead of its day.

Mid engine layout
tricycle gear
Alysion V-12 engine (so did the Mustang A version have)

And even a large automatic cannon in the nose (37MM!

nice to see someone interested in aviation as well. I am an A&P mechanic working on DeHaviland Beaver's DHC-II mk.1 made in the early 1950's but of course, unlike the P-63 is has a 9 cylinder radial engine.

I two happen to like boat planes.

I also happen to be a fan of the Twin-Otter planes as well, but the old warbirds like that of the P-40,P-47,P63 and Mustang seems to be specialy when it comes to the lovly tune of the engine.

I wonder if there's any ture way you can control the speed of the prop without having to slow down the engine such as the one with the boat planes?
