The following has worked on other v6's and v8's. Sometimes it took more than one before the ping was entirely gone. Higher octane gas was one option and you might want to try it again in combination with one of the "fixes".

180 degree thermostat
- Robert Shaw brand
Autolite 3923 spark plugs
- one range colder
computer flash
- haven't heard many good things about this
dealer only option

If you've tried even Super Unleaded, there's something else wrong and not just a simple fix. (Normally, 89 octane takes care of the mild pinging and the mods Chuck listed will help out with the rest or more than normal pinging.) If it's really bad, remove your airhat from the TB and crack the blades wide open (engine off of course). Grab a flashlight to look down the bores...if you see any oil puddles (or a unusually thick oil coating), you may have a blown belly-pan gasket. That's common and is covered under the factory warranty.

Replace the plugs with the 3923's.

How cool is it, that everywhere but Colorado they have more the 85,87,and 91 octane fuel.
