I let my son drive my Dakota for a while and he disabled the warning chimes during start up and the auto door lock no longer lock the doors when the vehicle goes faster than 15. What gives? How do I reset everything?

He may have cut the foil trace (like I did) that
feeds the chime, Tanker_boss.

I got so tired of hearing the chimes every time I
started the truck I located the PCM (behind
drivers side kick panel) removed it from the
truck, opened it up, located the chime (middle
of the board) and cut one of the two foil traces
that feeds power to it.

It can be soldered back together within minutes
if I wanted it again plus I still got all the
warning *lights* on the dash but no more chimes.

As far as the auto door lock goes, I didn't have
power door locks on my 02 BUT did on my 01
Caravan. I disabled my power auto lock by using
the owners manual. I'm almost sure you'll find
that in your Dakota's manual. You *might* even
find a way to disable/enable the chimes. I know
it was very easy to disable the auto door lock.
No tools at all to use.

Good luck..
