Message: Hey guys I have a 2002 Quad cab Dakota with a 4.7 and it has the automatic tranny with overdrive... I was towing 2 snowmobiles over the weekend and on our way home from Deadwood S.D. back to Minnesota it started to act funny. It would sometimes constantly go up & down in RPM especially if you hit even the slightest little bump in the road. Then when you shut the O.D. off it would go into OD, and when you would turn O.D. on it would not drop past 2500 RPM. ( it was doing opposite of what it should be) I was told there is a sensor or plug connector on the side of the tranny that may have become loose or just wiggly on the connection. Any ideas or help would be great.

Message: A faulty throttle position sensor could also cause the first symptoms you describe. No idea why the OD is acting up.

Message: Ok cuz I got 3 DTC codes P121 P202 P206 the last two are injector control circuit it says and I dont know what that means either. The 121 is saying the TPS not agreeing with the MAP. I am confused.

Message: Since you are getting a TPS code, I'd start with replacing that and restting the PCM. Sounds like Bob Lincoln may be sheding some light on what was going on with the OD in your thread on the performance board. Don't you have the tranny with the double overdrive (545RFE) ? Seems like some with that get some odd shifting when towing that those of us with the single overdrive (45RFE) don't see.
