Subject: 4.7 infinity life of timing chains IP: Logged
Message: Maybe someone who has been around a lot of high mileage 4.7Lt motors have thoughts. I was considering buying a dodge with a high mileage 4.7Lt in it. I usually like to change my timing chains in my 5.9 and 5.2Lt trucks every time I hit 125,000 miles. Now I see this 4.7Lt has 3 chains in it and 3 tensioners. I would think this would increase the life span of the chain to 300,000 mile.
