Subject: What grease do I use?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey everyone. I am now in the process of getting ready to replace
the lower ball joints on my 97 2WD. I have pretty much know all
the things I need except what kind of grease to use on the ball
joints. I will get the grease gun and all that, I just don't know what
kind of grease to use.

Also, where can I get the grease? I'm assuming it's something that
Autozone or Kragen might have?

Thanks!

When you go to the auto parts store to buy grease, you have to actually read the grease containers, and get one suitable for the application.

Well, I understand that. Just wondering if there was a particular
brand or something that someone would recommend for their ball
joints is all.

Thanks though!

i think any type of bearing grease would be more than enough. preferably something that's waterproof. you have no need for hi temp for balljoints and tie rods.

Find one with a high moly content. It reduces wear on high load componets(kingpins, tierods, u-joints, balljoints,ets.).
