Subject: What grease do I use? IP: Logged
Message: Hey everyone. I am now in the process of getting ready to replace
the lower ball joints on my 97 2WD. I have pretty much know all
the things I need except what kind of grease to use on the ball
joints. I will get the grease gun and all that, I just don't know what
kind of grease to use.
Also, where can I get the grease? I'm assuming it's something that
Autozone or Kragen might have?
Thanks!

Message: When you go to the auto parts store to buy grease, you have to actually read the grease containers, and get one suitable for the application.

Message: Well, I understand that. Just wondering if there was a particular
brand or something that someone would recommend for their ball
joints is all.
Thanks though!

Message: i think any type of bearing grease would be more than enough. preferably something that's waterproof. you have no need for hi temp for balljoints and tie rods.

Message: Find one with a high moly content. It reduces wear on high load componets(kingpins, tierods, u-joints, balljoints,ets.).
