Subject: 2002 Dakota Front and Rear noise IP: Logged
Message: Ever since I had my truck (brand new 2002). The truck makes this clunking noise from the rear brakes and the dealer cannot figure it out. They thought it was the front brakes and replaced them. After a week they locked up and were smoking like crazy. Again the dealer replaced all the front brakes. A few months later I started getting this squeaking going over bumps and grinding when turning. What do you all think? I could use some information to get these guys on the right track.
Thank you

Message: If you have rear disc brakes, the emergency brake shoes are on the inside or back of the rotor. remove the rotor & check to see if the linings are intact. my e-brake shoes came apart and made a noise in the rear wheel.

If you have to do the work for your mechanics, you've got the wrong mechanics.
