meh I still own 1990 Dodge reg cab with long bed, V6, rear 3.9 gear, that still runs with no plms and already hit 250k now I am replacing frist engine to a reman engine. best truck I ever had also pulled my 7,000lbs boat for lake or beach.

Dodge does have the worst track record in the industry. They have one of the highest fail rates of trannys, steering racks, ball joints on nearly there entire truck line.

With that said, I really enjoy my Dakota, and its been fair so far. You can always improve on poor design with after market ball joints, after market steering rack, and so on. The fact is these things can be issues on all makes and models around the globe. The fact also is, that its most frequest with Chrysler's pickups then it is nearly all other American and Foreign pickups in the US.

I am sorry....

I love my Dodge.
