Message: Why God Why My Beautiful Dakota....Uhh sorry....Well friday I did the unthinkable, I slid right into the back of a car. It was a little slick out, and the stupid woman in front of me just slammed on her brakes. Couldn't get the Dak stopped or turned enough to keep from hitting her, she was driving a 95 Neon, that will probably be totaled after all the estimates. She has a gaping hole in the back of her car...Well the Dak is doing ok, she needs a new fender, headlight and bumper, about 2500 dollars worth of work. I do have one question for you guys though, anyone now of a place on the web that sells body panels, if I can I would like to do everything myself to save me some money, cause one of my buddies will paint it for free, then all I have to do is put it all back together one morning instead of waiting a week for the bump shop to do it....any help would be greatly appreciated.....

Message: I understand how you feel nextgen. I just did the same thing to my 01 Dak. Some idiot stopped hard as soon as a left turn light turned yellow and we were in the straight lane!. Since I hit him even though he was an idiot it is still my fault. Also about 2500 bucks worth.
Be careful about some aftermarket body parts. The quality usually isn't there. Maybe an aftermarket hood. But I would stick with OEM if possible.
Since I'm an old man and can't work on the truck I'm stuck going to a body shop. Dodge body parts are on national back order and my shop hopes to have them by the 22nd.

Message: I know for a fact that the sway bar (the small part of the bumper) costs around 207.00, and the grille 175.00 from Mopar. I cant help you on anything else though, because I had an estimate done awhile back due to a hydroplane accident

Message: I would also recommend a junk yard, 97-current panels should all work and if you take your time looking around you can get perfect panels. They will have to be stripped to the primer, but if you pull them yourself you can save a lot. And this would give you good experience so that when you put them back on the job is nice and smooth, no mistakes. Good luck. Be sure to color match the paint.
