Subject: Two Dodges vs an Avalanche IP: Logged
Message: The other day, I'm sitting at a stoplight, and this Chevy Avalanche (aka the truck that is half plastic) pulls up next to me with this woman driving it. I proceeded to laugh at the truck and shake my head. Then, I look in my rearview mirror, and there is a redneck and his wife in a Ram behind me, and they are both pointing and laughing at the Avalanche also. I almost cried I was laughing so hard. It's great not to have a crappy truck like that. :)

Message: speakin of ugly nissans. this guy started talked smack about how his 4 cylinder frontier ran 15.2. i said there is no way. it was a 2000 x-cab 4 cylinder 5-speed. he kept insisting that it ran low 15's, which is total bull crap. so i challenged him with my mid 16's dak. now if what he was saying was true he should have walked me. well i let off at about 60 mph, and i was ahead of him by about 5 lengths. he said he spun off the line, so i raced him again, same thing. so then i told him we'd start from a roll so he wouldn't spin, and from a 10-15 mph roll, i smoked him hard AGAIN, so much for low 15's.

Message: I love the look of those Avalanches. They look so majestic, yet rugged ........................If you believed me, get off of this forum...right now. The Avalanche is the offspring after a Suburban had a 3-some with a Saturn and a Frontier.
What the heck is goin' on with those avalanche commercials? That's the first time I've EVER seen a truck not have a rear cab wall in front of the bed. In that case, I'll just take the top off of my jeep and use it as my new work truck. Sure the bed would be about 4 ft long, but hey, still bigger than the frontier with the 'truck' functionality of an avalanche.
Oh, lord, please let Bowtie Power be a 'real' truck owner just joking around with us about the avalanche.
On a different note...I sure like the look of the new RAM. Needs a bigger motor for it's size, in my opinion. I saw one with manufacturer's plates several weeks ago. Pretty nice.

In NYC it makes it easy to haul my groceries home and go shopping. the midgate makes it very easy for me to reach back while driving on my cell phone and grab a drink. It is the best truck I have ever owned. The only complaint is all the plastic, the other day I spilled Armor all on it and damn the thing is too shiny.

Then he runs back an snatches the dollar and walks off! What a Cocky bowtie ass wipe, thinking it's all about his truck! The only thing that plastic monstry got going for it is that it is verstally other than that i think the truck is alittle on the ugly side my self but it is not as bad as the astek or whatever it is called. I just hope that Gm does not turn into Ford and start using cheap meaterial on the cars and trucks.

Message: Chev4life,
When are you Chevy-guys going to realize that GM is taking you ALL for a ride? GM (Chevrolet) is always the LAST one to offer something new to the consumer! Ford introduced "aerodynamics" with their Taurus back in the early 1990's, Chrysler followed up very shortly with an entire line of totally redesigned vehicles. GM waits until the "market" becomes profitable before they decide to make a move. Lumina's and Corsica's were trash buckets! Can you say "Squeeze the most profits from an outdated platform"? Where does your "brand-loyalty" get in touch with reality? Do ALL "bow-tie loyalists" just wait for Chevy to catch up with the rest of Detroit? The Pontiac Aztec and it's cousin, the Buick Rendezvous (sp) as well as the Avalanche are the UGLIEST pieces of feces I've ever seen! Surely, they believe "loyalists" will spend their hard-earned money on whatever garbage they turn out - then most of YOU guys take the bait! - Give me a break, you large mouth bass!
Don't get me wrong, the most visually appealing GM truck was made between 1976 and 1980 BUT the gas tank was on the OUTSIDE of the frame rails - BAD design GM! (OK, so screw the consumer and make it CHEAPER!) Sorry GM, but I've found a far BETTER truck made by Dodge!

Either that, or he is a troll who searched for "chevy" just to see what is being said about them by Dodge owners. Whichever is the case, it was certainly a waste of time. If I didn't own a Dodge Dakota, I wouldn't be spending my time looking for websites where that vehicle is the topic. And I certainly wouldn't make myself look ignorant by presuming that the type of vehicle an individual drives is in any way indicative of that individual's character. In fact, I would say that engaging in such behavior would be more reliable. It is much easier to make a point if the method chosen is not by its nature demeaning to those to whom the point is being conveyed.
By the way, the Aztec is by far the ugliest!

I don't think I would really mind if the truck was plastic because it would be lighter and get better fuel economy but if it's as bulky as the frontier, avalanche, or aztec...I'm gonna have to move on. You can shape plastic to not look so ugly.

Message: Eventually many cars will probably move in the direction of plastics for design...or if we are lucky aluminum. Bulkiness is no way to go though. The designers are obviously trying to make the trucks look bigger and more aggresive. But at the same time they may be sacrificing function in favor of form.

I agree, though, the Aztec is an afterthought out of someone's a$$! The Avalanche IS different looking, but not in a good way. The Grand Cherokee has plenty of plastic and still retains it's good looks, why can't Chevy? Either way, $35,000 for the Avalanche just doen't seem like a good bargin. Again, Dakota... good design, good looks, big engine, perfect size, great buy!
