Subject: 99 Over heating

I have a 99 4x4 dak with a 5.2 and auto . For some reason when the temp gets to be 70 plus outside it wants to over heat . never a prob in the winter,spring or fall . I have replaced everything to do with the cooling system and some .cooling system flush, Radiator,fan cluch,water pump, thermostat,head gaskets ,lower plenum gasket ,new trans cooler/fluid filter ect. other than the cooling prob truck runs like new . no smoke no coolant loss dosent burn oil. took it to a radiator shop no problems found. the guy at the shop is also baffled any ideas

have you checked for debris in the a/c condenser and radiator fins? also what about the radiator cap? has it been changed?

power washed the a/c condenser when the radiator was out . Yes the cap is new . I have done everything i can think of ...Except the running in to a brick wall idea ive been having

have you verified that the tstat opens at the specified temp? there could also be a buildup inside the engine block and heads interfering with the transfer of heat form the engine to coolant. there was a post on here about that a while back. some kind of chaulky looking buildup inside the cooling system.

Yes thermostat opens at 190ish and maintains for a short time . Motor was flushed found no build when doing the head gaskets.also blew out the heads and block with air nothing came out except coolant.
