Subject: Heat and AC only works on high

Message:
Hello all,

My heater and AC only work when I place the know on full boar. None of the lower settings work. It worked one day and then just stopped. Like I said it still works I just have to crank it up to high before it will blow any thing out.

I was wondering if anyone could diagnose the problem and help me out on where to get the part.

Thanks for the help and these forms are great.

Same thing just happened to my 2001 Dakota QC.
It's a "blower motor resistor"
:part #... 05174618-AA
:part description... resistor 08-035-022

dealer cost $19.00
My total to get fixed by the dealer was $110.00

That's why we do the work ourselves - so we don't get ripped off by the dealer like hammerdak here. They charged him an hour to do a job that only takes a couple minutes.

One connector and two screws, folks. Easy. See Josh's links above for some details and some pics.
Thanks, Josh.
