Subject: NV4500 and NP241 waiting to be swapped IP: Logged
Message: So, I finally bit the bullet and bought the tranny for the swap. The salvage manager even threw in a NP241 and bellhousing for only $1650 out the door. I feel like got a pretty good deal. The transfer case and tranny have 100K miles. So, I'll be doing the swap in the next few weeks. My truck has a 3inch body lift so I should not have to do much cutting. I also got a Centerforce II clutch and BD Diesel short shift kit. The 241 is a few inches longer so I'll have to have my driveshaft guy shorten it, but that should only be around $150. So, does anyone want pics of the swap or to offer any advise?

Message: My truck still has a 318 with exhaust, cat, and intake but I'm considering putting in a 5.7 hemi or just stroking the 318 to 390. Either way, those engine mods are at least a year away. Next up I think is gears. I'm going to go with 4.10's with my 33's.

Message: Offroad4life, $150 sounds a little high just to have your drive shaft shortened, I had one shortened cause I put a Caddy engine in a chevy pick up and they had to cut 5 inches and they only charged me $50. I live in Northwest Arkansas,so if you live in California it might cost a little more.
Good Luck
