hi guys im new to this great site, i have been reading some of the different threads and found some things id like to do. first off i have a 98 2.5l 5spd. i was wondering how hard it would be to connect an electric fan in place of the stock one, and how do you do it. i read that by placing the iat sensor into the intake tube gets some extra power. where is the iat sensor, i unscrew it from the place it is now then do what? and do i have to plug up the hole where it used to be?
and one more thing how would i go about hooking up an aftermarket tach? how is this done. sorry about the long post, but im still learning, so try to bear with me.

Yep, the electric fan is the way to go for your Dak. I don't have an IAT, but I know everyone that has them rave about them. That will be in my near future too. By the way, your posting length is fine, put all you want here, some are quite long, but if no one is forced to read them anyway, no need to apologize, welcome to the site.

dosent the 4-banger have a electric fan from the factory? i looked at a 98 with the 2.5 and it had one. i didnt ask the owner if he installed it, i just assumed it came that way.

Rascal, you do have an IAT. You are probably thinking about an IAT adjuster. Instead of using the IAT adjuster a lot of people relocate the actual IAT sensor into their intake tube. It does give good results. The IAT adjuster is better because you can adjust the intake air temperature yourself. Yes, you do need to put a plug in the existing IAT hole. Just remove it from its existing hole and make a new hole in your intake tube and place it there. It is very easy. Relocating the IAT or using the IAT adjuster doesnt really do much in temperature below 70 degrees. It's mainly a summer mod.

Hi,
I want to relocate my IAT, but i dont know what it looks like. It's apparently something easy to do...
I live in NH, and its usually does'nt get much hotter than the mid to high 80's in the summer...
Would it be worth my time to move the IAT?
Where can i find it (that question didnt get answered earlier in this post).
What does it look like?

I can tell you where it is on a 4.7 but I'm not sure about the other engines. The best way to go would be to use Bernds IAT adjuster. It is fully adjustable or you can flip a switch that makes it read stock. Plus, you dont need to relocate or plug anything. It isn't too expensive either. Check it out at www.speedtweaks.net

i dont think that there is an electric fan on mine, you can hear the clutch fan come on and off. so is there anyone that can help me with the wiring? id really appreciate it. also with the iat, what would i use as a plug? a bolt or something? if so what size? and has anyone hooked up an aftermarket tach? how do you do it?
