 Subject: P 0463 on and off again........

Guys - I need your help! My check engine light has started coming on with the code P0463 when I get below 3/4 of tank. Fuel gauge also pegs out on E. However, everything is fine if I keep a full tank of gas. Is this an item a shadetree mechanic can fix? Thanks.

My chart says that P0463 points to a bad sending
unit within the gas tank, Creig..
Check the connetions on top of the tank. If look
ok, you're either going to have to drop the tank
or pull the bed off the truck.

thanks RadioMan...I've got a feeling though that I'll be paying someone to drop the tank to replace a sensor. It's funny how I don't have the problem when I keep it full of fuel.
