Subject: 93 v8 starting issues IP: Logged
Message: i have a 1993 dak v8 cc 4x4 auto. recently its been giving me a slight problem starting.
This morning when I went out to start the rig, It wouldnt start. It cranked over fine, but wouldn't fire up, like it wasnt getting any gas. I broke out the timing light and hooked it to #1 and it was flashing so i knew i was getting spark. After that I cranked the ignition on/off/on/off/then on and had no codes. the next time I clicked it on, i heard the fuel pump kick on and then I tried to start it again. it spitted and spuddered like i ran it out of gas, then fired up after a few more cranks.
My guess is i might either had an power issue with not getting power to the fuel pump at first, or the pump itself is on its way out. Any ideas?
This is not a consistant problem at all , and this is only the second time ever that this has happened.

Message: have you tried looking for the #115 splice? it's under the PDC about 6-8 inches down. i think 3 rede or red/white wires spliced into 1. peel the tape and insulation and redo the splice. preferably solder but good wire connectors will work too.
