Subject: Ordered me up a Dak IP: Logged
Message: Well, I took the plunge. Ordered me a new Dakota quad cab today. 4x4, 5.9L, 3.92 gears, all the goodies. Dealer said 4-5 weeks ... which I hope is the case, cuz I really want that $2k rebate...hehehe. Gotta take delivery by April 3rd to get it.
Now I just need to find me a pre-runner light bar, and maybe a roll bar for the box. Any ideas on where I can find one or both of these on the web? Looks like accessories for the 2001 Dak are kinda hard to come by.
Thanks ... seeeee ya

Message: I get about 15-16 on average with only city driving. Of course my is a stick, and I tear out the sandbags everytime theres no snow. And I hardly ever have anything in the bed.
But if I really cared about miliage I would have bought the new hybrid thing, a friend of my Dad has.

Message: Well, my F150 gets about 10 mpg around town now so won't be too much of a stretch! Wait til I start throwing the visor, light bar, lights and schtuff on it, then we'll talk about poor mileage...hehehe.
Say, speaking of my F150 --- know anyone that's lookin' for one? Had the bug so bad for a new Dodge that I ordered the new before I sold the old....haha.
---> Actually hoping it doesn't sell so I can have two 4x4's in the garage, just don't tell my wife that!
Seriously, I'm really looking forward to the Dakota. The 4.7L in the quad cab impressed me -- the 5.9L in the R/T REALLY impressed me -- I just hope the talk of 26,000 jobs ending doesn't hurt the moral of the boyz on the assembly line....yikes

They have universal fit pre-runner light bars in gray and black. No one makes a Dakota pre-runner light bar. Price is reasonable at around 130.00. BTW, the quad cab will look silly with a roll bar.

Message: Yeah ... the roll bar idea was just a shot in the dark. I don't think it would look right either. I might put one of those angled box-mount spare tire carriers in the back anyway.
Thanks for the info on the procomp web site anyway. Was there looking a while back .. just didn't know how a "universal fit" would reallllly fit, ya know?
See ya

Message: I received word today that my new Dakota ships out on March 6th. Wow, those boyz in Warren move fastttttt. My garage is already filling up with aftermarket goodies to bolt on when it gets here! Nothing performance-wise just yet ... all cosmetic stuff. But I'll be hitting you guys up for those performance type parts when I settle down on the exterior!
For starters ... which cat-back dual setup will sound the tuffest and perform the best? Any suggestions? This is the 5.9L we're talkin' about. Thanks for the help! Seeee ya
