Subject: KC lights??? IP: Logged
Message: I have 4 Pilot off road lights that are 6 inches round, i was wondering if i bought some of the KC 130 watt bulbs, if they would be noticably brighter if i just replaced them. right now i have 100 watt bulbs but there not KC.

Message: Not sure it would be noticeably brighter, but it would certainly put an additional 10-amp load (at 12 volts) on the electrical system.
KC or not KC, it doesn't matter: watts is watts.
If you're worried about light output, don't concern yourself so much with watts, that's just a measure of power consumed. Research the actual light output of the bulbs. LUMENS is what you want.

Message: what about candlepower??? the ones i have now are 200,000 and the 130s are 300,000 wouldn't that make it brighter??

Message: Yup, but this is an extra 120 watt load on the wiring and relay. You need to follow up on whether those parts can take the load, as "Zip" suggested.
