Subject: O2 Dakota blower motor IP: Logged
Message: Hi I am wondering what happend to my truck. I have an 02 Dakota 4 door 4x4 with a 4.7 and about a year ago my heater would only work on high so I replaced the little resistor thing under the passenger side dash and had it working like normal again, all the settings worked. This morning I went to work and froze! I had absolutely no blower running at all. All I could get was a little heat that you get like when the heater is turned off. It will not work at all now and I check the fuse and tapped on the blower unit and I cant get it to run no matter what. Anyone have any ideas as to what went wrong or how do I troubleshoot this? Thanks guys

Message: For some reason known only to the Dodge engineers, the blower circuit is not fused. It gets its power directly from the battery via the ignition switch. Between the ignition switch and the blower are the resistor block and the fan speed selector, and their associated wiring.
Happy hunting.

Message: Marv is 100% WRONG ... The fuse for the blower motor is a 40Amp in the distribution box under the hood and it should be fuse 13 marked HVAC. The wire color for the fuse to the ignition switch is Red/Light blue and from the ignition switch to the blower motor is DarkGreen .

Message: OOPS. Sorry about that.
Forseti is right about that fuse being in circuit. That's what I get for relying on memory and not digging out the FSM schematics to verify my statements before posting.
Dangit. I hate when that happens.

Message: Is the resistor available at Pep Boys or Autozone or is this a dealer only part? Need to replace mine as well. Thx
