I have a 96 with a slightly modified V6 and I dont know if I have a problem or not. under moderate acceleration the truck slightly bounces at first then when it shifts into 2nd it does it again. if I hit the gas even harder the tires spin so I dont know if its wheel hop or if its a problem

I just had new shocks put on would struts wearing out be something that the mechanic should have noticed? and what part of the strut would be the problem? the mount?

A 96 Dakota wouldn't have struts.

What do you mean by bouncing? An up and down movement? Or a fore and aft movement?

it is hard to tell because it is during acceleration. it feels like it bounces up then when it lands moves forward slightly then does it again, but it does this process quickly
