Message: Does anyone know how to get a PCM for a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4.7 4x4 without paying $1200 by getting it from the dealer. Can I pull one from a wrecking yard or anything? Thanks

Message: I would think a junk yard PCM would work provided the donor truck had the same engine and transmission as your truck. Surely others here will have more info on that.
How many miles on your truck? Isn't the PCM covered by the 8 year/80,000 mile emissions warranty?

Message: Jimmy9190 is right the PCM should be covered under the fed emissions warranty. i had an '89 gran Prix and it was 2k out of warranty with a bad PCM and i talked the dealer into replacing it under waranty for me.
if you're way out of warranty try www.car-part.com. it can search salvage yards across the US and Canada. they'll probably need your VIN. i think the only problem may be something about if either has the factory alarm or not.

Message: It will also need to be for the correct transmission and emissions package (auto or manual)- O2 sensors on one cat would be federal; O2 sensors on the two precats for '00 is Cali.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way
