 Subject: Airbag light

The airbag light on my instrument cluster occasionally comes on and stays on.......after i shut the truck off for several minutes and restart the light will shut off and stay off...this happens about every 4-5 times i start the truck.....i know there is a sensor in the pass seat...but it should not keep the light on...this happens when there is someone in the pass seat and also when i am by myself. anyone had any problems such as mine???? any insight would be very much appreciated!

By the way my truck is an 05, 4.7, 4X4 Quad Cab SLT.....about 30,000 miles.....FYI

pull the air bag out on the driver's side. crimp the 2 wires with a pair of pliars. worked on my '03

When the airbag light is on .. take it to your dealer ..... and dont even consider doing what "tee" said .... that is a moron thing to do

if you follow the manuel, remove the air bag as instructed, it is the "right" thing to do. this method was told to me by a "repairman" on the end of the assembly line at the dakota plant in warren michigan.it is not an uncommon problem. going to the "stealership" and paying $100 per hour is a "moron" thing to do. know what you are doing, or saying.

My air bag light came on one day after I had closed the glove box door. Was it a coincidence? It is still on. Have not had time to get to dealer yet
