I've got a 2000 Dakota 4x4....I've replaced plugs and wires, starter, and just got a new cap and rotor for my distributor...However when it rains, or gets wet, I cannot get it to start! Does anybody have any other ideas????

When it won't start what is happening? Does it just turn over but not start or is it completely dead, no lights or anything like a dead battery?

Ok if there is sufficient voltage then you may have the coil getting wet or a corroded connection at the coil. Is the engine receiving fuel? If not, you could also have corroded or bad connections when there is moisture in the air at the fuel pump assembly on top of the fuel tank. Even if it is new, your distributor cap could also be getting wet somehow. pull it off and inspect the inside.

Did the truck do this prior to wire change, If not did you just put the wires in or reroute them as they were supposed to be . they could be shorting or could be cheap wires
