The thing I don't understand about the price of gas is that Albert Gore Jr. wrote in his book "Earth in the balance" he wanted to see the cost of gas go to 4-5 bucks a gallon, and a lot of the Democrats praised him for saying that and now the same ones that were happy about him saying that are all upset about the cost of gas.
Go figure. I won't give up my Dakota just yet, I am still getting between 18-22 miles per gallon, plus I really like my Dak.

dont get me wrong i love my dak. and i plan on holding on to it as long as poss.
but i just think its kind of sad that in a month of fill ups i can buy intake, headers, exhaust. lol... somethings wrong with this picture.
at this rate ill never be able to modify my truck bc all the dough is going to the tank.
hey were all truck guys and it would just kill me that something simple like "gas prices" determine the cars i like and drive.

Add $2 / gallon Federal Government Infrastructure Tax.
At $6 gallon people MIGHT begin to conserve.
People might move back to cities (no more 2 hr commutes).
People might live in smaller homes (not McMansions)
There would be more $ for better roads.
There would be less traffic.
Cargo would move faster.

hey i live in chicagoland where evryone is going west and west just to drive 40+ miles to the city. i agree that is pretty stupid, hour plus commute doesnt make sense to me.
i agree people arent going to start conserving untill it hits 6 bucks like europe. its sad.

Isn't it funny how all of a sudden the oil corps are having so many tradgedies that justify jacking up oil prices.
Never seen anything like that happen before.
Even when the Exxon Valdeez had a spill in the spring of 1989 it didn't slingshot the oil prices.

The United States and the world that depends on the oil corporations that control the WORLD's monopoly on oil are very close to starting something BIG, on a global scale!
It's pure greed, from vegitables in high places they don't belong.
It's like putting a 2 year old mentality in charge of a mega corporation and having them say "I want it" all the time, but have the power to take whatever they want.
No more kids in candy shops for them. Either they are stopped or there WILL be severe consequences to the USA, not to mention the world!
Gasoline really costs 1/3 (INCLUDING FAIR TAXES)what the current prices are.
There is something going down and there is severe greed out of control. The government is overthrown by these totaliarism corporations, explaining the crime and anarchy, murders and savagery escalating in USA.
They make laws and do things that benefit THEM, not the US citizens.
They want all the power and no one else can have any power- they must be ALL in the poorhouse.
USA was praised for having a society where the people control the government, but wake up and smell the roses, the USA is now the worst country in the world for repression, claiming to be a superpower when it is broke and the typical US citizen is poor on a widespread level, and continuing.
The US government is welching on forking over student aid for ELIGIBLE US citizens to get higher education- so the crooks can protect their power.
US citizens are uneducated because of this, overtaxed for programs the government never comes through with, so no one can afford to pay for their educations themselves, and the government refuses to admit when they make mistakes so US citizens get stuck not being able to do anything in life, so USA is just a bunch of wannabe dummies claiming to be educated.

That's the Bush /Cheney energy policy at work. Cheney had a closed door meeting with all the oil company CEOs in which I'm sure he told them that he appreciated all the money they gave to the Bush campaign to get elected so to return the favor they get to run roughshod over the consumer and make record profits.

Why would I want to do that? I like my truck plus it's paid for and only has 100,000 miles on it. I plan on driving it until the wheels fall off or the frame won't pass inspection anymore.

Get rid of the government (replace it with sain people running it and make sanity a required qualification to be a government official.

Don't forget that US citizens' pay scales are not keeping up with inflation, either. There will be an economic collapse when it reaches the point where typical US citizen income cannot meet basic survival living expenses.
Tax brackets are not adjusted for inflation either, so as the dollar continues to shrink as dictated by inflation, people's pay that stays the same becomes less money by staying the same amount of dollars that are now worth less,
but the government still taxes the income, which is now worth less money, as if it was alot of money as it was before the inflation,
so poor people are being taxed as if they were rich.
Bank accounts are not adjusted for shrinking dollar, therefore all your lifelong investments and savings are depreciating. When you put a large amount of money you worked really hard for in the bank 10 years ago, that same money is now worth only HALF now! Banks don't multiply your money by an adjusted dollar factor to compensate for the new lesser value of the dollar.
Americans are being robbed of their investments, wages, and are overtaxed by this greed scheme of inflating prices on everything but your money is not adjusted accordingly for the current lesser value dollar.
YOU GET LESS AND PAY MORE.
IT'S MATH!
That is why we see society in the United States falling apart, and nothing but greed from a tiny 1% of the population controlling 99% of the nation's wealth is behind it!
This has to be reformed or it will all come down!
This is not an eggaduration!
