Subject: trans line leak IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota 3.9 and I just noticed a transmission fluid leak/drip in the trans line going to the top of the radiator. The leak is where the hose is crimped to the steel line (at the bottom of the hose). Do I have to replace the whole hard line and hose or is there an easier way to fix like with a clamp or compression fitting?

Message: I just posted a new thread regarding the same exact problem with my 2005 4.7l dakota. I know you post was a long time ago, but what did you end up doing. I'm trying to avoid having to replace the entire trans. cooler line. I'm hoping I can thread the steel lines and use some type of braided hose to replace the rubber hose??? Thanks for any help/advice.
