Message: First and only time (so far) I locked my keys in
my 02, 50 miles from the nearest town in the U.P.
of Michigan, I had to break the rear window. I
broke out the slider glass. Cost me $130.00 after
I got back home in Ohio.
I now have a key stuck to the frame of the truck.

Message: If you have a sliding rear window you can get it with a putty knife, picket knife and flat screwdriver.
Not really easy to describe. Use putty knife to get window apart, then use pocket knife (thin blade) and putty knife to pop the latch on the window.
now, once you have that done, you'll need to figure out a way to get ahold of the lock to unlock it, seats will be in way, you'll need a small child or someone to guide you to the lock.

Message: If you know how to use a slim jim, a 94 Dakota is nothing to open. It can even be done with any door tool that has a small hook on the end. You just have to bend it to the right angle to catch the door lock rod and gently pull up.
Another easy method on vehicles with vertical lock buttons is to use a tool called a Sully Strip. It's a thin flexible plastic strip, 2 feet long and an inch, that has a small hole punched into each end. Tied through the holes on each end is a single piece of string about 25" long. You push it between the door and jamb, past the gasket near the top of the door until it's about half into the vehicle. Sometimes you might need to wedge the door slightly to open up a small gap but most times it's not necessary. Then slid the strip down near the lock button, giving the string a slight tug to make the end of the strip bend, making it easy to hook the string over the lock button. Then you just pull back to catch the button and up, unlocking the door. I once made one out of a piece of an old window blind and some dental floss after I locked my own keys and lockout tools in my own truck.
