I have a 2001 CC 2 wheel drive w/3.9 & a 5-speed, 82,000 miles on it. Truck has been having a clunk type noise from the front end when I go over a speed breaker or hit a bump in the road. Ball joints are fine, so far anyway. The noise has been getting progressively worse the last few days so today I got under it & saw the bushings on both stabilizer bar links were shot. NAPA has them for about $38.00 each and I will fix it on Saturday. Has anyone here replaced theirs? If so was it very difficult? Do you need an alignment afterwards? My Haynes book doesnt have any info on it but it looks like it can't be that hard. Looks like you can just jack it up, put a floor jack under the A-arm & swap them out. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Dead easy to do. You won't require an alignment after, unless you need one now. Did you get the entire link or just the bushing? The way you described it is the way it's done. I find it easier to pop one side, then go change out the other side, then go back to the first side. That way you only have to fight with 1 side instead of both.

Thanks Stan. The Napa part is the entire link plus all the bushings and washers, nuts, etc. Napa has 2 different parts for it, the $38.00 one is their OE spec part. The other is less but is a generic that they said "may vary". That's a good idea to break one loose then do the other. I don't need an alignment but if I did it has a 3 year alignment plan on it from the tire store who did the last alignment. Thanks again.

Jimmy
