Subject: Ripples in hood... IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1999 Dakota C/C, Ive discovered a few slight ripples in my hood, one in the center of the left side of the hood right where a spot of that expandable foam stuff joins the skin to the hood framework, and another on the right side of the hood where it curves down to meet the fender, its about 1/3 of the way back from the front of the hood. there is also one on the left side in the exact same spot but not as easy to find as the one on the right..
Has anyone else out there noticed anything like this on their trucks??
My truck has never been hit, and I wouldnt even THINK of letting anyone sit on or put anything NEAR my truck, thats why Im curious as to where they came from.
You have to really look to find them but they are there.
I think they might actually be slight flaws in the sheetmetal and were more than likely created when the truck was being built?
just curious to see if anyone else has noticed anything like this on THEIR trucks...
Thanks guys

Message: Didn't you post this on moparchat? Yeah, I have a few flaws in mine, noticeable when I look for them, so I try not to.

Message: If you have paintless dent repair in your area then go and ask for an estimate on how much if would cost for them to fix the problem because I have friends who do that daily and they have been able to get out a lot of big dents and creases

Message: dude,
yeah i noticed mines awhile ago and i saw that other members had the same problems also. they were commenting that the brackets under the hood were the problem. i'm gonna take mines to the dealer so they can switch it. the other guys had no problem with trading the hoods in.
mahalo,
Scotty
