Stock set changed with AL 3993's
@34K- looked like new
Changed those with Bosch platinums
changed @94K- 3923's looked new
all identical
I recently had a bad 02 sensor that I changed,
thought maybe plugs had fouled some, @131K
changed those with AL 5924(whatever the stock is)
Boschs looked like new, all identical.
Oh well, maybe I'll get SLIGHTLY better mpg-
dought it though since it already gets great gas mileage.

Message: It doesn't really matter what kind of plugs you use. It might have 30 years ago but not now. Your right foot has more to do with mileage than any spark plug ever will.

Factory service manual says NOT to use platinum plugs due to to much heat for the alumium heads.
JUst a word of caution...

Message: SilverDak,
Yea, I know. But so many people years ago said they ran them without any problems, I tried them also. They work great.
I now have ~131,000 miles, no problems at all. NO ticking, burning or 'using' oil, etc.
My observation with the new plugs again so far is NO difference, in performance, or mpg than the Bosch Plats I had in.

Message: I've used Bosch Platinums for 5 years, 150K miles with no problems. BTW, platinum plugs are standard in the 4.7 HO engines.
