It appears that some of the M1 oils are a PAO base, like the 20W-50. But the oils that most street vehicles use is not any longer. If you try and pin Mobil down on that one, they won't give you a straight answer. Ask them specifically, "Is 5W-30 a puro PAO oil?"
If you try and pin Mobil down on ANYTHING
they won't give you a straight answer.

I've used both Mobil 1 and Amsoil in my Dakota and I prefer Amsoil oil and filters. I couldn't care less if Amsoil isn't API-certified. That rating means you have to have lower anti-wear additives in order to protect the converters. Knowing how the federal government sets guidelines, you and I could get an oil certified if we gave a bribe to the right official.

I'm not Stan nor do I know anything about him, you dumb f**k. Amsoil is every bit as good as, if not better than, Mobil 1. At least Amsoil is a true synthetic where mobil 1 refuses to discuss their base-stocks.
