how many people believe the 4.7 is under rated. reason being is how can the 4.7 put down 190 in an automatic and the 5.9 put down only 150

along with both hemi's they all use the same design transmissions so the 4.7 could have more power than claimed. hell the srt/4 does

No, the 4.7 uses a planetary gear style transmission (545RFE or 45RFE) which is quite different from the auto behind a 5.9. Might want to recheck the "facts" behind your earlier claim as well - I doubt your talking about the same ambient conditions and the same dyno for the testing.

I dont know much about dodge transmissions but generally the rule of thumb is 13% power lose in the drive train for an auto and 11% for a stick

my 08 Avenger R/T(3.5L engine) is rated 235 HP and comes with 6 speed autostick. The 08 Charger with 3.5L engine is rated at 250 hp and comes with 5 speed auto stick.

also my avenger is fwd

what's the difference to make 15 hp difference?

Greg, Where so you get 190? My 4.7, nearly all stock, NON super chips, put down 218 RWHP.
SC's on premium 227 RWHP.

Epyon, I've always used 18% loss for my 2001, 4.7 MANUAL, the QC has a 2 piece drive shaft.

Autos are usually more like 25%, especially with a 2 piece derive shaft.

Ya u may be right for dodges but i used to work at a chevy shop and thats the rule we used to use. It may or may not be correct either way it justifys why i have never owned and never will own an automatic. Power robbing, gas sucking slugs that are not nearly as fun to drive
