Subject: power steering pump IP: Logged
Message: I think the power steering pump is dying on my 2004 SC 4x4 with 4.7L. The power steering comes and goes with it not working more than it does work now. I'm under the assumption this is the pump failing - I've heard these pumps are bad news anyways.
Anything I need to be aware of as far as changing it out? I'm guessing I remove the serpentine belt, remove the bolts holding the pump in, disconnect lines and reservoir. Am I in for any surprises?

Message: Fluid level is fine. Belt is not slipping. No odor to the fluid but I didn't check for grit or metal in fluid.
