Well my dakota was totaled last week and I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me with my repairs. One last thing. How do I remove the airbags from the steering wheel and passenger dash. I'd like to try and sell them along with some other parts that I'll be removing. Thanks again for all your help.

Sorry to hear about the death of your truck.
I don't know about the passenger side, but the steering wheel air bag is easy to remove. Disconnect the battery for 2+ minutes so the airbags aren't energized. Remove the steering wheel face by removing the two bolts from the backside of the plastic trim. Feel around the plastic trim and you'll find two bolt holes (one on each side). A 10mm socket will do it. There you have it.

Take a screw driver and pry the piece of plastic off above the glove bok and remove the bolts that keep it were its at.

weel if the truck is totaled dont worry about breakin anything that rubber piece just pops in so get a corner free and rip it like you would any other panel. you sould be able to "wing it" figure it out from there

What's the deal with selling my airbags from my totaled truck? I was told it was illegal to sell them. Does anyone know what the law might be concerning this? I live in Mass.

never heard that, those things are expensive little f$#@%&*. Have you checked to see if they sell them on ebay, that will probably tell you if its illigal or not.

I'm in Mass too, no idea if it's legal here or not. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Just because they sell them on ebay wouldn't mean it is though; that's national/international. There definitely is a market for them out there though, ebay should sell them into markets where it's legal if you're worried.
