Subject: OEM factory rims IP: Logged
Message: I have a 98 2wd Dakota with the factory 2wd rims(15x7) that run a 235/70/15 tire. I have purchased a set of the OEM wheels(15x8). What tire size I should run on this rim?

Message: On an 8 inch wide wheel,
most tire manufacturers would recommend '235' to '275' wide tires.
Choosing a tire size depends on your specific needs:
-lowered chassis height / better handling
-heavy duty towing/loaded bed
-keeping the speedo calibrated nearest to stock
and etc.

Message: Thanks. I ordered a set of Michelin LTX M/S in the 235/70/15 so I don't have to reset the speedo.

Message: Good plan. Lots of 4x Daks came with 31x10.5R15 on those rims, about an inch taller.

Message: Then 31x10.5R15 won't fit on your rims Todd...
