Message: I've heard toothpaste and a cotton towel works well. Just keep it wet. Might take a bit of elbow grease.
I used some GS27 (or is it G27) scratch remover and it worked great. It's a very fine cut rubbing compound. Took me about 5 minutes per headlight.
You can also buy a headlight cleaning kit...they're fairly expensive though.

Message: Also: "Mother's" Plastic polish works well. I used it with the Mother's Powerball and there was very little physical effort! Good luck!

Message: I've had good luck with Meguiar's PlastX plastic polish as well...fairly cheap at Autozone...I think Walmart carries it too.
Also, on the Mother's Powerball...while they're not real cheap, I just wanted to ditto what "other bill" said. My friend highly recommends the Powerballs as well. He says they do wonders.
