Message: hi guys
well ive grown up a chevy guy all my life so i dont know much about dodges. but now with college the trusty old big block silverado is a bit to costly to drive, so im looking at a 88 dakota with a 3.9tbi, auto and 4x4. other than the general issues is there any specific i should look for in this truck, anything common to the dakotas. also a few other questions, what kind of mpg can i expect, what kind of weight will i be able to tow, im a construction major and work it on the side, so i do tow trailers of lumber from time to time its usually nothing more than maybe 2000lbs but i would like to know my limits, thou im sure the truck should tow that. is the 3.9 a reliable engine/good engine, are they costly to repair? any advice or help you guys could give me would be great, im a great mechanic just know very little about dodges.
Thanks for anyhelp

Message: for one its NOT a magnum engine
the towing capacity on it is around 3500-4000 lbs i think
the 3.9 is a very reliable engine
i never had any problems with my old 3.9TBI and i had that was puleld out of the truck with over 170k on the odometer
